Favorite thing about Northeastern/Boston?
About Northeastern, how many opportunities we have to do things that we like and about Boston, that it has a lot of awesome things to discover, the colors of fall and definitely sports.
What are you most looking forward to in SAA?
To get involve as much as I can; I’m not use to being in an association so I’m trying to make the best of it. Also, making friends!
What are some fun fact(s) about you?
I recently learned how to surf (and surprisingly, I was good at it) so now I’ll do it in any chance that I get.
What are your favorite movies and/or books?
This is very difficult for me! As of right now, GoodFellas (but Forrest Gump and Big Fish are always in my list), and books would be The Great Gatsby (or Le Petit Prince).
How do you hope to stay connected to Northeastern when you graduate?
As an alum, I hope I can come back and talk to other students about my experience in Northeastern.
What has been the highlight of your year here at Northeastern so far?
My highlight is this husky of the week! I was very happy when I found out and it means that I have been active in the association and learning I can do a lot more than what I had imagined.
Of the Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots, which is your favorite team?
If you were randomly told you had the week off and $5000 to spend, what would you do?
I would go to Mexico to visit my friends and family, and if I had money left I would definitely go to the movies with all of them.
As you may already know, there is another Mayra in SAA. Do you think the two of you can co-exist, or are you of the Highlander mentality: “There can only be one.” ?
At the beginning I was very intrigued about this other Myra, but after meeting her I found out that there can be two awesome girls with the same name in SAA.
You’ve booked a dream vacation in your dream country of your dreams. However, due to a freak storm, all the planes have been grounded indefinitely. As you leave the terminal, you are confronted by a strange bearded man that claims he can get you to where you want to go. Because you are desperate and naive, you follow him outside. He presents you with the choice of three mythical beasts to take you to your destination. They are the Hippogriff of the Harry Potter Universe, the Griffin (a majestic beast with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and an eagle’s talons as its front feet), or a giant flying-squirrel named Ricardo. Keep in mind that the flying-squirrel is a misnomer. As opposed to flying, you would actually be required to take off from a very high cliff or mountain and glide to your destination. Which do you choose, and why?
After thinking this very carefully I decided that I would choose the Hippogriff, because it seems like a fun and safe creature, and also because I’m a Harry Potter fan and would love to meet one.
