The beginning of SAA’s 2013 Fall Semester has been off to a great start. After a week of interviews, our new members have successfully been chosen, and we’re looking forward to getting to know you all. We’re sure you’ll each make a great addition to the “Tradition [that] Never Graduates.” Congratulations! Thank you to the e-board members and volunteers who made the selection process run smoothly!
To start off the year, SAA participated in OAR’s annual event, “Cup of Joe.” Volunteers handed out free Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and donuts to NEU students on the first day of classes. Definitely not a bad way to start the semester! The first week of classes also included a lemonade stand, in which our VP of R&R, Adriana Jodoin, and other volunteers handed out lemonade and a list of “Top 10 Things to Do Before You Graduate” in the Freshmen Quad. This definitely aided the recruitment process along with our table at the Student Activities Fair and our two open houses.
Meetings have officially started with our ice cream social we had last night, welcoming the new members. Old and unfamiliar faces were all accounted for, and the new chemistry within the groups should make for some great experiences throughout the year.
It’s an exciting time of year, and our first 5/25 is just around the corner. Looking forward to getting the semester officially underway!
